It looks like your coin has environmental damage. The black surfaces make me think this coin has been damaged in a fire. It's PSD and only worth 5¢ now. Keep looking and posting. People do find interesting and rare coins every day!

Why would a 1963 weigh different than a 1964-D? Looks like environmental damage to me.

Yes other than the circulation wear and environmental damage, this nickel looks pretty normal. It is a little low on weight but that might just be the the wear and/or a slightly underweight planchet.
