D Mint Penny In A Philadelphia Lincoln Penny

Looking through them a d Lincoln Penny appeared. This roll is uncirculated because all the coins are new. Report this Post to the Staff

It looks to me like they place their machines in either retail or financial institutions, with a current footprint of the following states: Pennsylvania, Maryland, D.C., Delaware, New Jersey, New York and Virginia. I'm quite sure that your roll of 50 cents was not assembled at the mint. merclover Bedrock of the Community United States 10635 Posts	Posted 11/13/2019 04:47 am Your "uncirculated" coins apparently "circulated" at some point. The Abrahams of Philly got the H.F. String & Sons Philly branch to host a mixer and invited the Abrahams of Denver for a small gettogether, and the result was now being able to call all the coins "Nearly Uncirculated". The gettogether nearly got out of hand blamed of this guy: but overall things went well. There was a band and wild lead singer nd of course, their groupies Any marks on your coins are due to this guy . Secret service must have been slaking as even his guy got in . Next time you may want to visit the mints directly to pick up coins to avoid this situation. Those coins, they can throw some wild, wild parties! Report this Post to the Staff
KenKat Pillar of the Community United States 4085 Posts	Posted 11/13/2019 09:00 am Yes, somehow the D got mixed into a bunch of P mint coins and then rolled together These are not rolled at the mint, they go out in bags and are rolled by third party companies. Who knows what happens to them at that point. They could easily mix bags from Philly and Denver together as they don't really care where the coins come from. The D mintmark is added to the die in Denver and then used to strike a bunch of coins. I don't see a scenario where someone would add a D mink mark to a die in Philly and then strike coins at the Philly mint with a D mintmark. Even if they did, 1) they'd strike a bunch of them with that die and 2) you'd have no way of telling that they were actually struck in Philly anyway My 7070 US Type Set My 7100 Lincoln Cent Set (now with updates!)
