Magnetic 1964 Gold Plated Lincoln?

It looks like it's been plated. The metal used to plate the coin may be magnetic.

Do you know the weight?

With the plating process, some are only plated once. But like the old fashioned bumpers on the older cars, they were plated three times on a prepared surface. So the single plating ones, do not have the a reflective sheen, that triple that plating creates. But anything done to alter a mint finish, removes value that could have been there if the surface was normal. Pretty much spendable. Non collectors fall for these, but are really face value coins after they are altered.

Probably iron was plated onto the coin. When he says magnetic it is a weak attraction. Like holding it self upright. But take the same magnet to a 1943 steel cent, it just leaps to the magnet. Not the same attraction to a plated cent.
