Can anyone give me any information concerning an error on the 1963 quarter? It's not what one considers as a spitting eagle quarter but instead at the tip of his beak it has a split in it about a sixteenth if an inch deep and causes the beak to look like a set of big pooching lips. It's a crazy site. I would post some pictures but I don't think my camera will pic the error up enough too be able too see it. Sorry about that don't mean to keep a good error coin all to myself! Lol if anyone can help me with any information on this interesting coin it is ver much appreciated. Thanks!

Here is a die clash on quarter. Most of the time they think it is something special, but it is just a named clash:

Your description is not something I'm familiar with. Pics would really help.

If it is incuse, it could just be a well placed hit but without pictures,
It will be hard to say for sure what it is.

Hello again and thanks for your opinions even if most of you just suggested for me to show a pic. Lol I don't have a camera that is capable of getting in that close. So basically I'm going to post the best pic I could get and then I also am going to include two illustrations. Hopefully you can get the gist of what kind of error I have here and what I should do with it. Lol as I said this is a 1963 90%silver Washington quarter.

The first illustration is how a normal quaters eagle head and beak look and the second drawing shows what my eagles beak looks like. Has anyone ever heard of this error?

You can get in-focus pictures by using the zoom and moving the camera farther away. I have used my cell phone camera quite successfully this way.

Glare is hiding what you're seeing on your coin. It maybe a contact mark on the coin? I f the hub was that far off when the die was created, the other devices would have a huge spread.

I love your drawings. Can't wait to see the coin more clearly. Haven't heard of this an error before, and I'm with coop in suspecting it's from a hit to the coin.
