interesting, possibly struck through retained? try and post photos a little further out with the coin positioned upright and we'll see what the experts say.

well, those second group of picts aren't helping much because the focus is off. Looking at the first set again I believe I am seeing die scratches on the object which would make me think it is retained struck through.

I'm seeing on the rim where it is covered. It looks like old Elmer's glue? It flows over the rim, so I feel it is not a striking error.

ok, so this is all incuse so not retained. I'm not seeing glue Coop but I see a clean chunk taken out of the rim similar in shape to that end of the object. Still struck through maybe I'm thinking.

It looks like damage from something being stamped into the coin at least 3 or 4 times. Each stamp was moved towards the image of Lincoln. It almost looks like a counter stamp, but it wasn't stamped very deep. Just PSD.

yes, it can be PMD but without better photos it's really hard to give solid opinions. USB microscopes are around $40.
