Your 1982 cent is a small date 82, and not as common as a large date 82 cent. I got a cramp in my neck trying to study it. I'm not sure what "These Markings Edge of Coin" means? On the 82, we can't see the whole coin... do you mean the 76? If so, the 76 has PMD. It helps us to see coins properly oriented and cropped to the whole coin's edge, and too, please put multiple coins in their own thread.

The 82 looks to be copper,3.1 grams as opposed to copper plated zinc 2.5 grams.

Yes, someone has taken a sharp cutting instrument (like a knife) and made a series of gouges along the rim of these coins--not a mint error.

It's not the first coin I have with those exact same markings but the other one had a copper like It was punched out or like excess from stamp that come out of the die. You know like a an insert or better yet say you have a book of stamps or a page and you get the stamp out of the middle. The coin had the really thin piece of copper barely hanging on an come off when I picked it up.. it was a mint condition 72 Lincoln Cent.

I wonder if someone actually took the time to make those markings on purpose.

I agree with Spence, it looks like someone was just messing around with a knife and a cent.
