I would put this at XF-40...if it did not have that huge scratch in it. I would like to get opinions from everyone on how far that scratch will drop its grade.

It will get BB'd by NGC or PCGS. I'd give it VF30 details, scratched.

Sadly, I agree with Wwhitman
I cannot tell how deep those scratches are, but the grade's going down.
While the TPGs will body-bags coins like this, they're still collectable to me.

Yeah, Kurt, I agree...BUT I would probably rather have a rim ding here and there rather than this giant gouge across a prominent field on the obverse. It looks completely deliberate...that's what's so sad.

It kinda reminds me of Fred Savage's mole in Austin Powers...can't...take...my eyes...off it...

I concur, VF, not EF without scratch. I think it still is a collectible piece.
