Roosevelt Mint Mark Error?

Hey all! I hope you guys had a great Thanksgiving and for all you that collect silver managed to get good Black Friday sales on bullion!

So as I mentioned before my grandfather left me a lot of coins and I'm slowly going though them with the microscope to see if I can find anything in the way of errors.

Is this a mint mark error? To me it looks almost like a D/S type mistake? Or is it just the coin doing funky things?

Hi Vinitel, this looks to be where the upper corner of the D took a hit from something or other. Can you show us pictures of the full coin, front and back?

@vintel, rather than a OMM, that looks more like damage to the mintmark from circulation wear. However, it is worth checking on the varietyvista.com website (or another one of your choosing). I would do that for you, but you have omitted the year of this dime in the title of this thread. With that said, there is only a single OMM listed and it is a S/D (1947).

A 'D' over 'S' will show it raised on the center of the mintmark:

I was just showing that the area affected would be raised, not incuse on the coin.
