20c Curious If PMD And What Could Have Caused It Please

Its hard to get a decent photo of it, but even though there's a ring on both sides of the coin, its as if whatever did this has compressed the coin as its "lower" than any other part of the coin. Also, the pattern is still there so not sure how it could have pressed so hard without pressing out the detail?

The damage to both sides of this this coin indicates that it has been subjected to PMD (Post Mint Damage).

It looks like someone has tried to impress a countermark on it or something similar, and the fact that it is damaged on both sides really confirms this fact.

People do some really strange things to coins.
