Hey ScopeBlind, I'm not certain enough to say. Could you please post pictures of the full coin, both sides? If you're able to get clearer pictures of the reverse devices, that may help as well. If it's not Die Deterioration Doubling, this is a pretty exciting find.

Trying to get cleaner pictures, but my equipment is lacking, is there anyone that would accept the coin for further examination that I could get in touch with ?

You looking too close to find something that is not there, but what you are seeing is Machine Doubling that is there. Here is a side by side of a DDR, compared with a normal die coin: Note how the devices are larger on the lower image. Also note the full contour of the devices is there? Just like a regular. Then look back at your image. You can see the outside edges of the devices are flattened by Machine Doubling. That is what you are looking at too closely. To get a better view, show all the devices on a word. Rather than just two devices. That will help you to see a normal coin, or a doubled die easier.

This confuses me more and more. It doesn't look like Machine Doubling to me, although I'm having to view everything on my little phone screen instead of my computer monitor while I'm traveling, so maybe I'd see it if not for that. The reason I ask is aren't the original devices of normal size, with doubling that seems to increase their size? Anyone else seeing that? I thought this was going to be DDD. Expansion of normal size seems most evident to me on the picture of "ED" compared to the pictures coop last posted. Pictures of designer's initials looks expanded, too, and doesn't look shelf-like.
