Here's the one I asked about earlier. This picture does it no justice. It looks really good under the microscope. During this time of scanning, I found another crack in a 2008 penny If I can get it done before it's too late, I will send it too. What do y'all think of this I have never found a die crack before. Are these worth anything?

Die cracks are common and unless the cracks are severe(as in looks like the die is ready to disintegrate) then there is usually no premium on them. LMC dies are prone to cracking from the corners of the monument.

Edited for spelling..

Hey Jorgy.... I have a cent just like the one that you have on your post. Guess the die cracked off on those?

If you are talking about my icon coin it is a Cud. A chunk of the die face broke off.

They are nice to find, I hear. I haven't found one, though! Notice the area of the strike on the opposite side of a Cud. The strong weakness of the pattern there confirms it is a Cud.

Well I guess that I can take that back. I did find a minor one that I forgot about.

Hi,

At the bottom of my post, there is a link to my Ask About Coins page. I have an article on Cuds posted in my OCTOBER , Roll Searchers' newsletter.

Have Fun,
Bill
