I agree Bill years ago when I posted a picture of one of these DP or die clash 1's I posted it as a DP 1 but it was decided by others that it was a die clash on Canadian Copper Coins when it was thriving in action. I can't figure out what would made a clash either if one?

I have an 1881H with the die-clash 1 like Sammeli's. The extra line matches the queen's throat. At the top of the 1, you can see the turn of the throat to the chin going to the right. My coin also has the same die clash line of the bust under the H that is on the bead die-clash variety (no bead clash). obverse is 1a/1.

I agree with Terry. I have an 1881 with a similar die clash on the 1. It is not a SSN obverse.
