Hello,

I'm having trouble with "The Red Book." I'm not sure why but I'm having trouble comprehending the beginning, yet I find the section on the Proof and Mint Sets interesting. The history is just not absorbing as well. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Thanks,
Rich

What don't you understand?
Or is it just the style of writing?

Hello TreasHunt,

The more I try and finish the intro part of "The Red Book" the more I'm thinking it is the style of writing. I like "Coin Collecting for Dummies" because it more or less spells it out. I find it hard to read the stuff I'm not interested in although I know it may serve me well down the road sometime.

Thanks,
Rich

Just take your time and read it in sections.

The problem may be that it was intended for beginners, but reads as tho for the advanced collector.

Next thing to do:
Collect old Red Books and read some of the old intros. They are just great.
