I just got this back today. I put it in there to make the discount and kinda want to cross it to NGC for the superlative. You like her?

A beautiful ASE before anything else a crossover would be interesting assuming the hairlines are die polish lines they aren't as distracting as the black reverse and obverse the grade comparison from a crossover would be interesting to compare.

@muddy, the black is more purple in hand. I was concentrating on the rest of the coin's color and ignoring that spot.

I dunno. I mean it's a silver eagle. Is it worth the money to now cross it over? Also very likely it won't be a 68 by NGC or PCGS grading standards. Very likely to return a MS67 and they may or may not give you the + or *. That part is subjective by the graders.
As I always say do what you want, it's your collection and your hobby. But when it returns you may be disappointed is all I have to say on it. NGC or PCGS are harsher than ANACS on grades.
I like the coin it's pretty. And I think it's just fine where it is, I don't think it warrants the additional costs if it were my decision to make. As adding 1 more coin to make the ANACS special that's a great choice to get slabbed though.

Thanks big-kingdom. I only paid $7 to get it holdered, so it wasn't a huge commitment to begin with. Plus I only paid $20 for the coin. The only reason I'd cross it is I want to do a slabbed type set of PCGS and NGC coins, so that'd be the only reason. Plus I don't like how the ANACS holder presents this coin, I feel NGC would look much nicer. I don't mind a 1 point drop in grade as it is an eye appeal coin.

Not a bad idea when you need to make the discount level.
I do not care for the ANACS holders, either. I wish you good luck on the return.

Thanks jbuck. I feel it is probably closer to a 67 but that isn't the focus with this coin.

Grade is really secondary on these and not really important, the color is what will drive the price. It would be worth crossing over

I'm clueless about these, but it's a knockout for sure.

Gorgeous toning, I think it deserves an NCG star.

Very pretty coin especially if the blackish area is purple. I hadn't given thought to the 'color driving the price' which I can see as spot on.

Thanks Hunter! For context, do you see that blueish purple area at STATES on the reverse? The blackish spot is about the same color, maybe a bit lighter.
