Just wanted to say sorry to all I confused with my writing on the last post. I have found a 2008 penny with an extra 8 and maybe another. The first 8 is inbetween the 8 and 0 and maybe aother in the middle of the second zero too. Something is in the 0, almost looks like an 8 too. Anyway, the dime is a 1972, the OD in GOD looks doubled or something, and TRUST looks... well I'll let you tell me cause I really don't know. Here they are http://killians76.jalbum.net/2008penny1972dime1/
thanks glenn

the dime looks like a DDO, but I am inexperienced in such things. The 2008 penny doesn't appear to be a DDO, but instead looks like very light die chips or breaks

Hi,
I see what you are looking at on the cent between the 0 and the 8. Can you get a closeup where the entire date is visible?

The dime shows the result of being struck by a worn die. We call it Die Deterioration Doubling. It is not a doubled die.

I can't say what the deal is on the cent yet.

Thanks,
Bill

Not sure what you're looking for Bill. Aren't those just stains on the coin?

Hi Chuck,

I can't hijack his pictures to draw arrows or lines but to the SW of the 8, there is what looks like the top and bottom portions of another 8 The openings and the outer portions are there and they do actually look like an 8. The sizes of the openings are perfect and the outer lines of what might be an 8 are right on the money. I wish I could copy one of his pictures to use for you.

Look between the 0 and the 8 it does not look like a stain.

Thanks,
Bill

Hey Bill That looks like that is the widest I can go in a picture. Tried a couple more times to get it all in there but cant. I have taken more so you could put them together or something, but that is all I can do. Is this something to pursue?

As mentioned in our emails, I would keep it safely placed in a safe 2X2 until it can be examined carefully.

I can't tell what it is exactly but we are definitely seeing the same thing in the same place so it is more than my imagination.

email me some of the pictures so I can play with them:-)

Thanks,
Bill
