Toothpick test, as in running the tip of a toothpick through each groove of the steps?

florida, toothpick is used to put pressure on the raised area makeing sure this is not just gas trapped under the copper layer.

I do not think so since it does not have a "point or design of origin. More than likely it is a die dent.
