Has anyone known of any 1970 S/D mint mark error coins? I think I might have one. I'm knew at this and using my mobile phone I had trouble posting pics on another topic so please bear with me as I'm going to try and get some decent photos of my penny properly posted. Thanks
Please note the penny is still in the mint wrapper and I think I should keep it there, this may pose trouble for me while I try to get photos.

@kld, those pics are pretty good, but still a little too pixelated to see what you have there. I'm not seeing an OMM for 1970 cents, so my inclination is that it most likely is damage. However, you could reach out to VV:

The S/S cents are often found in mint sets.

Gee I wish I could take it out of the wrapper to get better pics. Is that going to decrease its value a whole lot?

Well it is a large date and not a small date. Check to see if the mintmark looks like the example I posted above and in the same location on the coin. You might have a RPM? Just can't tell from the images provided.

Yes, the mint mark looks very similar to the pic you posted and indeed it came from a mint set. I did cut it out and put it into a capsulated coin holder. Maybe I can get better pictures and you could take another look for more possible errors.

Check the mintmark location. If it is exactly like mine, then it maybe that RPM. The coin if it is that RPM, would be worth more than the mint set. I'd take it out. Leave the rest of the coins in the cello to keep them safe.
