Tired Of Being A Guest - You Guys Are The Experts And I Have Questions

Hello all. My name is Dale I live in PA. I've been collecting coins since I was 8 years old , I am now 58, and have a 2 1/2 year old son - go figure. lol I probably have not "purchased" more than 10 coins in my life - by that I mean pay more than face value. My dad taught me that true collecting was roll hunting or urban mining (stores, banks, etc) or trading but never paying for the coin. I h ave learned that while an investor or wealthy individual may have a set of proof graded every year of a coin, a poor man's collection is just as valuable if you have the same coins but not just as nice. For him it was completing the series through hunting not buying. I don't know if that's sound advice but it's the only way I know. Now with that said I buy the heck out of junk silver LOL

I joined today because I have been reading advice and comments and admonishings here for quite some time and I have some serious questions concerning some coins but I am so paranoid to send a coin somewhere - but I trust your collective professional and expert opinions My passion coins are Lincoln cents 59 to 82, all Jefferson nickels, and above all Kennedy half dollars. I have come to the point where I realize I will not get the 2014 gold kennedy roll hunting so I may someday purchase it. It has only been recently (last 3 years) where I started tracking and hunting for errors and I tell you I am hooked, badly. Love it - so I will be posting some questions regarding that. Thank you all for years of educating me in something I learned from my dad and hope to pass to my son.
