I believe you can see the letter C also on the edge

Sorry @MC, but all I see is normal circulation wear plus the damage noted by @john1. The displaced metal on the edge looks vaguely like a letter C, but that is just Pareidolia.

Years ago I came across a LWC with several similar strike marks--looking like someone was having fun with a chisel, striking both obverse and reverse multiple times.
