I have no clue why this mark is here. I do know it is visible with the eye. Just wondering if there is something to this coin. There is not a corresponding mark on the front aide of the coin. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

If possible, please include photos of the full coin--obverse and reverse. Full, detailed photos help provide better context for discussing the issue you are referring to. Thanks.

Looks like a circular ding under RI in 'AMERICA'? Could be PMD. As an aside, the coin appears to be plated. A number of steel cents in VF+ or better condition were plated over the years--almost looks like chrome.

Honestly, in person, it doesn't appear to be PMD, not saying that it isn't. Also it very well could be plated, I don't know I just find the coins. I got this one about a week ago in the coin return, at a coin counter, in a local casino. I figure someone raided grandmas coin stash because it came with 2 five cent euro coins as well.

Pretty much just a Wheat cent now. The re-processing ruins collector value. How can I tell it is plated?
They shouldn't shine.

Looks like the plating is beginning to wear off. PMD, a neat coin to hold onto, but worth only 3 cents (value of Wheat cents).

to the CCF!
