I'd say MS-64, and a spitting eagle, as well!

Obverse MS-62, reverse MS-64, net MS-62 on a bad day / MS-63 on a good day. There are some fairly sharp dings above the ear, on the cap fold, and on the obverse rim at 10 o'clock. The reverse is much better. Nice spitter!

I am tempted to go 64 but agree 63 is more likely here. Try not to crop your images so tightly against the rims, we're missing a (very) small portion of the coin due to the cropping.

The cheek marks are light with nothing deep. I'd say they went MS-64 on this one. I'll bet this one looks far better in hand.

unfortunately FortCollins was right and it was a bad day at PCGS. The value on this coin has done well though, is there a place to discuss coin values here?

the 89CC is known for above average strikes. this one is average for the year. I would have thought the reverse would have helped hold this one to MS63. the obverse is borderline 62/63 imo

@Geohoarder, a few thoughts.
First, your coin isn't likely to get a better grade if you crack and resubmit. Sit tight with the 62. You shouldn't get hurt on this one. If you see a need to try to upgrade value, what about trying for a CAC bean? Other than cost, there isn't much of a downside to that.
Second, spitters appear fairly frequently on bourse floors. They seem to be more common than people perceive. That said, about half of the spitters I see have been whizzed to death. (I have no idea why this particular date and variety is so heavily whizzed.) Yours has fully original surfaces, and the reverse has good eye appeal. Your coin will be in demand. It's a great original coin. You just need the right buyer at the right time.
Third, I see very little price difference right now in 62s and 63s. It all depends on what the buyer and seller see and haggle over. There is a big range here (around $400 to $600 for original coins). I think you could shop it around at a bigger show, and hold out for your price. Your big selling point is your reverse, and that's what matters most on a spitter anyway.
JMHO.

Thanks for all the info FC. My Red Book say's that spitters were common, but did not mention whizzing. You make good sense.
