Wow! I do not see anything wrong with any of those coins; but I have to say you made your point, the 10 centavos is very nice!

The 10 Centavos incorporates a very old piece of history--that large stone Aztec calendar. I like their other coins of the same theme--with faithful interpretations of ancient art. And I agree--the "Mercury" dime is one of the more beautiful US coins--it even wears nicely.

That Mexican dime is really cool! I've never seen one before. That engraver must have had a lot of fun designing that coin!

I've never really paid that much attention to Mexican coins before. That one is a beauty. Thanks for sharing.

Agreed--there's such a thing as taking Vienna's "Secession" style too far. That's like ALL CAPS on a coin.

Your looking at this all wrong. OPn our present Dime: Notice the great detail of our presidents face. Notice the details in his nasal and ear passages. Note how carefully the word ONE DIME was not broken on the reverse as with the Mercury dime with a pile of stickes held together with some kind of wire or rope. And why put a bird on the obverse when a fantastic profile of a president is so much nicer to look at? And a lady with Wings on her head? Or a lady sitting down on the job? Holding a funny stick? Had to stop or I might start believing what I'm saying.

The Republic of Seychelles is an archipelago nation of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean, some 1,500 kilometres (930 mi) east of mainland Africa, northeast of the island of Madagascar. Other nearby island countries and territories include Zanzibar to the west, Mauritius and R‚union to the south, Comoros and Mayotte to the southwest, and the Suvadives of the Maldives to the northeast. Seychelles has the smallest population of any sovereign state of Africa. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SeychellesMetalman, let me take a look at my collection. I seem to remember having more than one of those 10 kopek coins. Does the date have to be 1915 or would you accept another date of the same type?

So it's in Africa, northeast from Madagascar. That does help in putting it on the map. Thank you Metalman, if you would need any other Russian denomination (1/2, 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 50 k., 1 r.) of that period let me know Apart from the 1/4 k., copper 5 k., and 25 k., they're all too common here.

I like the date on that coin from Peru: "un mil novecientos treintinueve" instead of 1939. Could be a model for US coins where - when it comes to the denomination - digits are usually avoided like the plague. Another tiny ten piece - a "dubbeltje" from the Netherlands: (Image from Wikipedia) That nickel coin, in circulation until Jan-2002, weighs 1.5 g and has a diameter of 15 mm only. Christian
