Hello! My name is Benjamin (Ben, Benji, etc), I'm 18, and I've been collecting since my mom gave me a few coins to start with when I was around 13. I've not really collected much until these last 4-5 months, during which I've been exclusively collecting Morgan silver dollars. I'm not looking to collect much else to be honest, but I might find something later on! Currently I have 5 Morgans (I have money from jobs but I just don't like spending too much of it). I'll probably post some on here to get help grading as non of them are professionally graded by PCGS, NGC, etc.
When you get a chance, start a thread about your Morgans and lay a few pictures on us. If you haven't already, read up on the VAM Morgan varieties - that may interest you, too.

Thank you very much for the greetings, everyone! Also, thank you for directing me to VAMs, Bump. I was aware of double-die features, but I didn't know that mintmarks and dates could vary. Very intriguing. I'll be sure to research VAMs and search my own coins!
I was like you once, but for me it was Peace dollars. When I got to seeing all of the beautiful designs out there though I changed my ways rather quickly! Now I collect lots of different gold and silver coins. Personally, I wouldn't be too worried about over-spending on your hobby because you're collecting 90% silver coins in exchange for pieces of paper ("in God we trust"). Think of it as exchanging fake money for real money because that's what it really amounts to in the long run. Plus, if you ever need the paper back, there will always be a healthy market for silver coins esp. Morgans.
