Muddler - your coins are so beautiful, they must have cost you a fortune! An unusual coin, an East Caribbean 2 cent piece. This coin is the size of a British/Kiwi/Australian/South African penny yet designed for a currency started in 1950 for most of the Leeward islands of the British Caribbean. Again sorry for yuk pictures - but the coin is fairly well preserved.

Mcshilling, we are in 1955 now sorry. Although your Canadian cents are STUNNING PIECES. Full red bloom and all! Sorry NumisRob - decided to show my 1955 Florin and Shilling of the UK. Standard circulated coins - gFine to VF. However the shilling is a "Scottish shilling" which shows the Scottish lion standing uprights in a shield. These shillings were legal tender throughout the United Kingdom and places like Malta which used sterling coinage.

A very blurry photo sorry (There are only 5 or more to go and some great ones coming) These are Cypriot coins dated 1955. They introduced a new currency of 1000 mils = 1 Cypriot Pound. So these coins are the 5 mils bronze (Halfpenny size) and 50 Mils cupronickel (Shilling size and equivalent). It replaced an old Turkish derived currency of 40 Para = I piastre and 180 piastres = 1 Lira (Pound). I will show a coin of this era when we get to 1940. This currency was doomed as in 1956 Archbishop Makarios started a rebellion against the British and by 1960 Cyprus had gained independence from the UK. The currency was retained, although "Mils" had disappeared by 1975. Coins show a standard "Crowned" bust of the Queen used in colonial territories.

Italy, 1 lira, 1955: A low value coin. Even when issued it was only worth about 1/6 cent. Jan

@Princetance, most of the proofs were very affordable when I started the set, still short the big one that would set me back the fortune you mentioned.
@mcshilling, I really like your cents.
