I've hunted a lot of quarters and pennies so far, but I haven't tried any nickels, dimes, or dollar coins, and only a small number of halves. How would you rank the denominations in terms of most to least worth the time to hunt for varieties and errors? Edited by SamCoin 01/09/2020 6:46 pm

Cents, Quarters, Halves, Dollars, Dimes, Nickels.
That's my ordering.

For varieties and errors:
Cents, quarters, nickels, dimes.
Nickels and dimes could flip, I haven't tried nickels in a while.
Haven't tried half dollars, only tried dollar coins once.

Interesting question, glad you asked because I'm curious to know, too. The way I approach CRH is less about finding saleable stuff, and more about finding varieties period, so for me I think it goes something like this: Nickels, Quarters, Cents, Dimes, Small Dollars, Halves. Maybe I'm just lucky with nickels, but I seem to be finding a decent amount of nickel varieties lately. I never find anything on halves for whatever reason.

Cents, nickels, Mercury dimes. (Cents and Nickels I prefer proof coins as there are fewer examples of each variety)

Also, depends on your location, east coast vs west coast. We on the west coast don't get to see many Philly struck coins,

I hunt Pennies and Quarters. Pennies because you get the most bang for the buck. Quarters for the variety of the designs.
