Hi, everyone. I found from a bank roll this nickel. The die seems to run from the first leg of the 'R' of PLURIBUS down the base of the steps, above 'E' of MONTICELLO.
Has anyone given a name to this type of die... like the speared bison?
My apologies for the blurry pictures.... not too sharp.
Just for fun, hopefully you won't mind John1 and Greasy Fingers, I will total the comments of the CCF experts and see what comes out of this coin since I really want to learn how this coin came about:
I've seen this gouges on nickels before. Not sure what to think of it. Would really like to hear what are more sizzled members of community have to say.
