I know it's not THE 55 but there are some areas that look a little off from a normal one. Once I get home and clean it up maybe it'll start to look like one

Why do you say now, do you think it was something else before the elements got to it?

Normal cent when minted, now after environmental damage it's worth just a cent. Is what I read into coops post. IMO spend it and let someone else discover it, maybe a new collector

Oh, I read as your timing sucks. Maybe a new collector will buy it with the story and right adjectives. Here's the pics

You scare us when you say "Once I get home and clean it up."
Please don't clean your coins. Cleaning ruins value.

Thanks for the info! I know not to clean but I figured distilled water and and no scrubbing was OK in this case. Or should I have not touched it at all?

Not to clean wasn't necessarily directed at you, but in general a plea to any new readers we have here.

I guess a soaking in distilled water with no rubbing or scrubbing would be ok if your coin was plucked from soil and then allowed to air dry.

Im definitely aware it's a death sentence to a coin in most cases. Thanks for the heads up though.

Rest in Peace
