Thank you so much. The surface of the coin is porous. Please send me a link to another one like it.

Thank you moderator. Does anyone have a link to a similar coin they could share?

It has that wood look. I`ve seen pictures of those. I have no idea what they are called. Good luck.

You hit the nail on the head with that comment - I Googled the search term " Lincoln Penny wood look" and found my answers. The wood grain or wood look comes from impurities. "Dick Johnson's article on woodgrain Lincoln cents was fascinating. The term "woodgrain" has been used by collectors of early American coppers for many years. In the case of early coppers the woodgrain effect is caused by "bad copper", that is, copper with significant impurities, which create the woodgrain feature when the coin is struck. About a month ago I received in the mail a 1837 N15 large cent which has significant woodgraining. The woodgrain wasn't mentioned in the dealer's list description, but I was glad to get it as I had always wanted one. "

OP's coin somehow looks unnatural, especially the reverse, and the coloring as shown does not seem typical in any way.

Doesn't look like a woody to me, but a harshly cleaned coin that shows those strong hairlines.

with Grape above. Coin looks to be cleaned and re-toned. This one doesn't look like a woody to me. Not an error coin; damaged. to the CCF!
