I agree, overall it has pretty nice detail remaining, I was referring more to the corrosion. Ya, yours is pretty ugly.

Looks like that was immersed in salt water springcypress. I'd say that coin has seen much better days.

Sorry vermont...I was referring to my quarter...Do you think that your 1914 cent is salt water damage like springs?. kinda looks like that.

Here's the ugliest coin I've ever seen and most badly-damaged, barring some left on railroad tracks; it's even wrinkled!: Image: NickObv.jpg81.07 KB Image: NickRev.jpg101.24 KB If you look really, really hard, you can see that this is a 1942-S Jefferson nickel. I'm not sure what was used to wreck this coin, but it looks deliberate, although not with a firearm. it looks as if the coin was struck at least twice. (And please excuse the poor photography - I had to handhold for this one.)
