I'm looking for the glossaries "with pearl" and "w/o pearl"
I've Israel coins 250 PRUTA and found the expressions with pearls and without pearls regarding these coins and I don't know the meaning.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks Zohar, now that I know, Iknow I've many 5 pruta w.pearl but only one 250 pruta w.pearl and one 50 pruta w.pearl, most of them need cleaning, the 50 pruta are covered with green stuff.
Thanks again.

Careful, when you say cleaning. Cleaned coins are generally bad coins and lose much of their value. If you mean it needs an acetone dip to remove PVC residue, that might be okay if done properly.

Hi Prethen,
You are right of course, I'm not going to do any cleaning before reading about it and consulting.
While on the cleaning subject, what is to be done with green oxidation ? the coine doesn't look like copper but I guess it's some kind of copper alloy, half the coin is green.

You might want to try soaking it in pure acetone (from a hardware store) and then rinse with pure water (with no minerals....my mind is blocking the name that I'm looking for...begins with "d"). Pat dry. If acetone doesn't quite do the trick, then denatured alcohol might help. Be careful.

Any type of friction on a coin surface is a bad idea. You may think you are using a soft item like a tooth brush or a cotton ball, but hairlines(fine scratches) will still be left because that soft item moved small bits of dirt and grit across the surface of the coin.

I absolutely agree, but some times I see stains that look like sticky dirt or particles of some kind and they don't go away just by soaking.
