1974 Lincoln Cent, Possible DDO?

I believe that coin is an very early die state with fully formed letters while the coin your comparison coin is mid die state with slight wear and thinning to the outer edge of the lettering closest to the rim. This makes the first coin look thicker than the second.

This extra thickness is too minor to definitively be a doubled die, other factors such as wear or abrasion can cause this slight difference in thickness.

Also, the lack of split serifs also leads me to believe this is not a doubled die. Many of the late 1970s, minor DDOs still show split serifs despite there being only slight extra thickness. The 1978 DDOs are a good example of this. I have 1978 WDDO-001 and a slight notch on the bottom of the R in TRUST is visible.

Keep in mind that if an obverse die was polished it would also make the devices thinner looking than a non polished die. So the devices could be altered on the die either on the large or small date. 1962 proof over polished dies that reduced the overall size of the date devices: IE
