I have recently found the same type of error on the same dated coin. A 1983 P that appears to have a die clash on the reverse. The "Y" is out of place from where a normal die clash would dictate but I'm wondering if the dies weren't misaligned to make such an unusual clash or perhaps it's a dropped letter type of error!

I like Y clashes or any clashes that show letters or numerals. When the dies clash they can often be rotated or shifted in relation to each other so what you have found is nice but not unusual. Here is one that showes a multiple clash event where one clash was even further off in position.
