hello, I am a new member this is my 1st post so I kindly ask to please bare with my ignorance and lack of coin knowledge. I have done so much research on coins and I've been collecting for awhile but I'm beginning to think that with this hobby u sort of need to go in one specific direction considering the amount of knowledge one must retain. I have been more intrigued with error coins and I've kicked out half my childhood just to make room for what I have learned so far, however, I still continue to second guess myself with every error I think I've found. Expert eyes would be a relief right now. I realize that typically if the coin is not in uncirculated condition it's basically worth face value or whatever someone is willing to pay. I really don't know that I will ever try to sale any of my coins but than again I've always said that money is going to make me rich but not like you would expect. I cherish pennies the most out of every coin there is. I've found a few questionable ones and I'm going to post photos. I'm just curious as to what anyone else might see and some information would be greatly appreciated. Again, bare with me and please be nice cause I cry easy. I'm working on uploading images now.

To the CCF Feel free to post pictures of any coins you may have questions about. Please post a clear full picture of both sides of the coin and state what your question is concerning it. Also post each coin in it's own thread to avoid confusion.

I promise I'm really new with this stuff and that would also include forums. I read coin community almost daily but never have I posted here or anywhere for that matter so I'm trying to figure everything out without making anyone mad or not doing things as I'm supposed to. Thank you so much for everybody's understanding. The pictures in posted are of a 1990 Penny. I'm just wondering if this is what is considered a double die or what is actually going on with this coin. Thanks.

Well click on this link: CoopHome : Note it is blue in color. It will have you to a thread of different threads I added information to or created my self. There are different subject discussed with thousands of images with explanations of what to look for and what is not something you think it is. It is a long project to read them all, but it will help you learn faster that way. There are three pages on this thread. Some are repeated. So start with page 2. (probably where it will take you)

with John1. Unfortunately, just considered damage and has no premium. Keep hunting!

O.K. get ready, it is split copper plating and zinc rot setting in. On liberty that is DDD=die deterioration doubling no added value. And what you are calling errors are really varieties. John1

It's important to know the different errors and varieties because although they can look similar, they all happen very differently. Like how MD can look like a DDO, but they're very different.
