Under extreme magnification I seem to see some very fine abrasion, but I'm not sure if it's been cleaned. The coin still has some luster. I believe my XF-45 grade is close, what do you think? Notice the parallel ENE-WSW scratches on the obverse and reverse fields and exposed surfaces, the lack of original luster, and the presence of surface crud inside the most protected areas of the design. From the surface coloration, I suspect it was cleaned with baking soda (common back in the day), and has started re-toning. Report this Post to the Staff
