1968-S Lincoln Cent Doubled Date? - Coin Community Forum

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 02/02/2020 3:11 pm That is a 1968-S Cent. It is a common cent with Machine Doubling. Not a doubled die. It is normal for this years cents to be touching the rim of the coins. They fixed the the next year with a new master hub: The 1968-1972 cents had a lot of Machine Doubling issues during those years. Even the big DDO on the 1969-S had a lot of them with Machine Doubling. PCGS used to show 133 examples of 1969-S non doubled dies that people submitted thinking they found the holy grail. But slabbed a bunch of machine doubled examples think they were going to get the big money for them. But they are just worth face value like your coin. Hope this helps. Report this Post to the Staff
