Another beautiful looking piece........ I collected nearly 200 different pieces like this over the 46 years of collecting. A lot are now sold, but I still have quite a few left here......

The 'NGM' part of the catalogue number is just me (NotGeldMan). '01' means it is the first basic type - white linen. The '9e' refers to the border type and colour' and the 'spur' designates it as having a Stampmark in PURple.
I created the catalogue numbering system up after tweaking the system over many years, so even a 'new' and 'uncatalogued' piece can be quite easily given a catalogue number, if required. If you have the same note as above but it doesn't have the purple stampmark, then it is catalogues as 'NGM01 9e-ns' (Not Stamped)

Here is a 25m note made of silk. The 4 captions in the corners of the note tell a story from the history of the issuing town/city, Bielefeld. When Bielefeld was still a little linen producing town, the official proclaimations were made by the beadle (an official who carried out various civil duties). On the days when the breweries brewed their beer, the bleachers and dyers next to the river (The Lutterbach) were cautioned against polluting the waters with their effluent and waste waters.

The 4 captions follow 'Hennerken Puls' (a well-known Bielefeld character) on his entertaining bathing episode. The small black lettering on the internal curves of the 4 corner caption state: ' It is hereby made known that no-one should s*** in the brook because tomorrow they are brewing' (Nowhere else will you find such imaginative designs, graphics and thoughts than on the German notgeld issues!!) Notgeld is a wonderful world for a collector

Do you know - all these 100 mark material pieces from Bielefeld contain tombstone epitaphs!! Here goes with one of them:
'Here lies my wife, Thy will be done. She used to quarrel with everyone. So passer-by, get lost to view, or up she'll rise and nag you too!'
