Found this 1999 quarter. Don't know for sure if it is gold plated or the magnesium zinc planchet. Any thoughts?

@cs, the weight is a little low to be on a sac planchet, but still within mint specs for clad. Is the edge of this coin reeded?

Just an outdoor find. They change colors in the wild. Depending what they are surrounded with. The long coin scratch should show what the original color was.

Gold plated, there are tens of thousands of them out there (thank you TV coin shows). If it was a quarter blank punched from Sac dollar stock it would weigh 7.4 grams.

The edge is reeded. I guess it is gold plated since the wt is much lower than the sac planchet. will still keep it for fun.
