An old family piece from my great uncle who was a jeweler. Have had this piece since I was a young man which was many years ago:) Assuming it is Hebrew or Arabic. Any guidance would be appreciated.

@slived, first welcome to CCF. Second, that definitely looks like Hebrew letters to me rather than Arabic writing. Unfortunately, I don't read Hebrew so I can't be of further help.

This is a medal or token of some sort. Deciphering the Hebrew would tell you a lot.

It's been a long while since I tried this but let's give it a go.
The first image could be #1513;#1492;#1500;#1521;#1492;#1491;#1496; which means something like resonated or sounded.

Second maybe #1497;#1491;#1503;#1513;#1491;#1497;#1501; meaning demons.

So, that didn't work too well. The Hebrew characters showed up in the preview but not in the published reply, sorry.

I appreciate the help. If this is just a medal or token of sorts it probably does not have much monetary value. If this is the case I will not regret further degrading any value by installing a hoop or hole to make into a charm for a necklace to pass down the family tree:) Would still like to know a little more about it. Not sure about passing it down if it resonates demons though:)
