Hello and

Looks like an English Charles II silver crown to me. Is the diameter approximately 38.6mm and weight about 30g?

It should also have an edge inscription: DECUS ET TUTAMEN ANNO REGNI VICESIMO OCTAVO.

If it's 34mm in diameter and weighs about 15g, then it's a halfcrown.

Thanks for the welcome.

Thank you for the information, its weight is 13.8g
so I'm presuming half a crown. I can see there was an inscription on the edge once, but cant make it out anymore, too worn.

Thanks again

Definitely a halfcrown. The edge inscription is often illegible on worn coins, and the wear would account for the loss of weight.

They are made in 0.925 (Sterling) silver.
Value on this one is moot - many coin collectors would turn their nose up at it as it is so worn, but people interested in the history and age of it might still pay £20 or £30. Silver value is about £6.50.

Very interesting coin.
It is totally legit - just very worn.

Here is what a better condition one looks like

What you have is a beautiful and historic coin - regardless of the condition.
