sorry for the mispost. I don't have a camera capable of taking a detailed picture of the dime.so i'll try to make best with a description.

the link above is to a 1968 D Roosevelt dime.
that dime is somewhat similar to the one I have in the respect that the " in god we trust" part is worn away in almost the same place where my dime cuts off.
The reel of my dime is large and does not have the ridges that dimes have. Also, The reel of my dime touches the back of roosevelts head. so you can see by the picture about how big my dime is when compared to that image, and thankyou i'll also try the errors forum.

It's really hard to say without pics or a scan. I have a dime and a couple of quarters that the edges have been rolled up onto the coin itself causing thicker looking rims and a smaller coin, but those are post mint damage.

it may be that, I hope it isn't. I rather like the idea of having an error in my collection. the reel has had all the silver clad worn off of it. its how I knew it was made after 64/65. either way I'm going monday to a local coin shop and see if the owner can give me a heads up on it. as well as an 1896 Barber dime that I've got and a few nice indian head pennys. thanks for the information ratman much appreciated.

I searched through two boxes of dimes recently. The first box yielded no silver, but in the second box, I found a 47 & 64-D. Between both boxes, I found a couple of Canadian dimes as well.
