1985-P LMC, Weird Looking 8 And A Notch In The 5, Damage?

I was holding onto this one for a while and planned to look more into it but didn't get around to doing it until recently, I was just curious to know everyones opinion on this one, as you can see the bottom of the 8 looks like possible damage but it actually doesn't have the "damaged" look if that makes sense at all... its very well rounded and smooth, also the 5 looks thicker at the top and side and on the bottom left there is a split notch, most likely nothing but I am not confident enough to discard it without asking first.

8 looks like it took a hit and I think the 5 is normal for the year.

I agree. It looks like a contact mark on both digit. The normal cent doesn't have a notch there that year:
