I could be wrong, but that looks like it might be a die clash and what your seeing is the tip of the memorial, either way nice find!

I think it's a contact mark notice how the curve of the G is flattened

Certainly looks to die damage of some sort because it appears raised in relief.
The profile of whatever caused the damage is visible below the G. the end looks to be slightly rounded.

Always interesting to find examples of odd die damage and let the imagination run wild on what might have been the cause.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

Yes interesting shape--I agree with die gouge, but how does that explain the shape? Maybe a well-placed hit as well?

And here is was trying to zoom in on the initials.
With the G of GOD such a straight line hard to believe that part of the device could be the effect of "grease packed" die...
