In honor of my 50th post, I would like to share for you one of my dreams. If I ever hit the lotto I would build a walk in vault (like one in the movie Panic Room $100K). It would include a leather Lazy Boy recliner $1,200(The one with the refrigerator in the arm), a big flat screen TV on the wall $5000 (for a comp. monitor, and a tv). The TV would also have a microscope for coin viewing hooked up to it $1,500. I would have granite shelves all the way around the room for displaying coins and currency. There would be a nice desk with a comfy chair. My coin buys would consist of the following: MS65 red 1955 DDO 1 cent ($10,000) A whole $50 strap of 1932 silver certificates ($500) MS 65 Red 1914-D 1 cent ($20,000) 100 lbs. of wheat cents for my spare time ($800) $2000 in face of "junk" silver in BU ($28,000) 100 rolls of Indian cents ($10,000) A complete BU set of all modern coins (Who knows how much) 1899 $1 silver certificate ($30,000) 3 leg buffalo ($1,200) Uncut page of 16- $50 bills ($900) A mint canvas bag full of Buffalo nickels (full date) ($3,000) $212,100 That would get me started! lol I love the "lotto" dream. I would buy a house first with a huge backyard so my daughter can spend all her time outside and let me do my coins inside! I would buy every coin available from 1978, 1878, and 1778!! And if theres anything left over..... I would open my own coin store where profit doesn't matter so everyone can get a great deal:)

I think I would buy as many gold proofs as possible. Silver too, no matter the years. Also all the year proof sets and silver editions and SMS's. I would also buy many statehood sets and other such things to give away to start others collecting. A shop would be nice, but I don't have near the knowledge. Maybe a general hobby type store or a gunshop. I would definately share with others, though. Texsquatch

Wow ! That is sooo different from my fantasy lotto spending I don't like clutter, so instead of tons of rolls and junk silver, I'd just keep adding to my key dates, maybe upgrade some of the lower grade coins to mid-grade (but not MS, since I prefer circulated coins). The rest of the money ? I'll be the next Warren Buffett, looking for bargains and upcoming trands and invest in our economy.

If I hit the lottery, the BIG ONE, I would buy two houses, one in Alaska for the summertime and one in Maui for the wintertime. I would send everyone on this forum a Pineapple and 10 lbs of Salmon and probably collect gold coins. But I don't play so I guess we'll have to settle for fish sticks (again) tonight.

I would have to put the family first. College funds, trust funds, nest eggs, etc. If there is anything left, then I would put it towards finishing my LHC, IHC, Buffalo nickel, Mercury dime, and 7070 albums. I would have the top registry set of proof coins. I would probably have to pay More for some because I am sure some people would not want to part with their coins. I would make it worth the lose. Maybe a bunch of super nice pattern coins too. After a walk in safe big enough to hold it all.

Walk in safes are easy. Buy an old bank building. Many of them have two safes, one in the basement holding up the one on the main floor. I almost bought one about 10 years ago, 20,000 sq ft, for $100,000. Used vault doors are cheap, but you better have them installed by a pro.
Aside to OP: 1932 SC?

I would start by replacing my PCGS VG10 1918/7-D Buf with a PCGS 65. I'd do the same with my 16-D Merc. Have always wanted that 1901-S Barber quarter in 65 too. And that too is just for starters.

I don't know about anything else, but for some reason, I would love to see what happens when you drop a tuba 1000 ft from a helicopter onto an (empty) parking lot.

Quote: They are still very underrated and underappreciated. I agree. The only ones I have now are in my 7070 and the dime was found in a roll about ten years ago! They might be my next target after I finish my last few remaining albums. I will probably make a custom album with all denominations in them, by getting the pages from Dansco and putting them all in one larger binder. I might even include the V nickel in that set; what do you think?

Re: Barbers. Quote:They are still very underrated and underappreciated.I agree. There are many nice dates within this series. Many scarce to rare. I want to see your Barbers once you hit the Lotto!
