It is a 5 cent piece. This design was used 1943-1945 (WWII). Around the edge is a message in International Code: "We win when we work willingly", instead of denticles.

The composition is steel coated with nickel and then chromium. What you are seeing on the cheek is the steel poking through the plating.

These are hard to find without defects. The circulated ones so often have rusty areas. This is one coin that does not age gracefully.

Thanks for the help BCTokens and Oriole~ {I've never seen this coin before and I'm from Mi}!!

The only marks on the coin are on the obverse~ on his cheek and then the 2 marks on his head. Is he even collectible now? Should I put it in a 2x2?
I'm finally going through my coins and want to store them all properly~
Thank you in advance!

No rust yet so it's a keeper.
Protect it.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

Thanks H50! I thought that it looked 3D also and I have no idea how I did it!
I use my phone to take pictures so it's always a struggle to get a decent one. I use a couple of different lighting techniques so I can match the coin color as much as possible.
