With a Close AM, the A is nearly touching the M. With yours, you can drive a car between the letters, so no, "no close", sorry.

I usually look at the designers initials. These are close to the memorial meaning Wide AM. It it were a Close AM you would be able to drive the car between the designers initials and the memorial instead of the A and M.

Well I always look at the location of the 'M'. Is it centered between the AME or off to the left. That is always the easiest way for me to ID them.
