hey all. wondering if Machine damage or some type of error probably doesn't increase value? the first pic is NOT my coin, it's just a control pic to compare to mine. TY.

@TS, it looks like your half dollar has an abraded area along the rim at 12 o'clock on the obv. Sorry but that isn't a mint error--rather it is damage and decreases the value of your coin.

1. Looks like a tiny amount of metal may have been shaved off the edge above Lib's head, sometime after it was issued into circulation, = Post Mint Damage.

2. If it is of the correct weight, the shaving was done at the Mint.
This was a fairly common practice done at the Melbourne Mint, for wartime issues, to bring overweight coins down to the correct weight.

To prove which theory is correct, accurate weight of this coin must be determined.

No extra value, either way.

A keeper anyway, simply because it's a 90%'ter.
