To me, a newbie, this seems like an MS coin.

I'd say AU condition, because I can see some wear on the high points, on the obverse. I can see it on the bust, cheek, forehead, and nose.

found in change, so some wear on high points... no planchet nicks or dings. So not a candidate for slabbing. guess its a flip :-) or spender.

Looks OK to me, I'll say 65RD.

I realize that you found it in change but I have to say MS-65 also .

Color/shine of coin throws me off, not seeing any luster (may be photos) Reverse shows no wear but I'm at AU-58

The obverse high point weakness it due to the strike. The reverse really shows no wear. I can't see any luster in the photos though, no indication of cartwheel spokes.

Strong MS64. Not worth slabbing--given what it costs (fees) to slab.

Here's a quick couple of pics... in flip. Make out the color and luster a little better.

WAY better pictures, not perfect, but they work much better. As I suspected, the coin shows the typical strike weakness across the portrait high points. It also affected the reverse, looks at STATES OF. I can see the luster, color and surfaces and they look great. The strike weakness keeps it from any higher than 65RD IMO because it affects the eye appeal. Don't feel bad, this is a VERY tough issue to find fully struck and free of other issues. I'm still looking for the right coin, I didn't even bother taking my current one out of the 2x2 for pictures....it's the best struck, nicest one I've been able to find:

I agree... keep it in a flip. I will use it as a guide to MS 63/64. :-)
