Hi, it has been a bit since I've posted, but I was looking for some help in figuring out if these two coins have errors or if they are just damaged.

One is an 1884 Seated dime that looks to have indentions along the rim.

The other is (well, my best guess) a 1901 liberty head nickel that , for a lack of a better description, is missing a small chunk. when I look down at the missing piece, the rim is a smooth circle on the top half and is just missing the bottom half (?). hopefully the picture helps.. thanks in advance for any knowledge

Your Seated dime looks like it was made into a Love Token.
Both are just heavily damaged. PMD
Remember, it is only an error if it happens during the striking of the coin
and there is no way that damage could have happened at that time.

By the way, love tokens have a collector value, although this one is not that interesting-no names or dates or initials.
