Went to the bank this morning to get 25c rolls wishing to find some other angle to prove my point.
Hope this does it

These are two 2015 quarters, the first image shows signs of deterioration beginning on the letter D and the antler (closeup images provided).

The second image shows signs of deterioration beginning on the antler, very similar to the first image, but the deterioration you see on the letter Ds are completely different.

Thank you SPP for the picture of DDD occurring on the penny. My conclusion, no quarters shown has those distinct metal flow lines!

Nor will you. That is from a 1940 cent. The dies were not even chrome plated back then. I'd hardly call that "doubling" at all.

DDD on recent coins looks more like mortar set to me, just look at this 2008 nickel which clearly shows strong DDD

I'd hardly call that doubling anymore, just looks like the dies around the devices are literally chipping apart.

I have a contact at the RCM Winnipeg plant, and I will send him the link to this thread - perhaps he can shed some light on the doubling you are seeing.

Thank you SPP, much appreciated!

If it is not too much to ask, can you also include this link to the post where the discussion on 2012 doubling took place indicating what I think is happening?

And, I am suspecting that a major change, either different process and/or different machine, occurred to die production late 2011 to early 2012. Can you ask RCM rep to confirm this?
