What do you guys think of this coin?
I need a 1921-D Walker to complete my set, this one is on ebay and its in my price range.

Something just looks fishy to me about the even color.....

hm.. looks fine to me. I have a few quarters from the 40s and they all look like that. I think the color is due to circulation, and probably not due to erasing or cleaning. I mean, it still has that gunk on In God We Trust.

well... at least tap it and make sure it's real

I agree, looks real and the color is probably OK. I'd grade it as a solid AG-03, although as a key date it could pass as a Good-04. It should do nicely to complete that circulated set.

The differences in color that you see may just be dirt that adhered to the surface.
Go for it.

I just like the overall look of it a little better, it was more money but I think it is worth it! After my 10% off coupon I paid $301 including shipping, what do you think? a fair deal?

The one you picked does look a bit stronger on both sides and the color is fine. What is going on along the reverse edge from 2:00 to about 5:00 o'clock? The area just inside the rim looks darker and has an abraded appearance. It that just a shadow?

I checked Heritage and certified no-problem AG-3 examples have sold recently for $173 including buyer's fee (not including shipping). A Good-4 example sold for $253 and an NGC VG-8 went for $403. Your pick looks pretty solid for Good-4. Assuming there is no damage your cost was comparable to what they go for at Heritage. However, the Heritage coins were certified (which may or may not have been important to you).

If you are happy with the deal, it was good enough!
